Good Friend Seafood @ Bayan Lepas Penang

So many people heard about Penang also have a lot of seafood restaurant exspecially at Teluk Kumbar area, 1 of the famous seafood restaurant name "Good Friend Seafood". Now have a new branch open at Sungai Tiram, Bayan Lepas area near Fairchild Semiconductor plant. Heading to the way to airport, after passing Fairchild (on your right), reach the traffic light and turn to your right, the restaurant only situate your left hand side.

Been once again joining the team of  "Qyzzy.com", sifu Criz Lai & all the floggers. 2 tables of setup prepare by "Good Friend Seafood" to have our seafood review there. All the dishes serve for 10 pax portion.


 The 1st served was Steam Grouper 石斑清蒸 which was steamed in Cantonese style. From what I get known from the owner of the restaurant, Mr Lum, the grouper not caught by net but by fishing rod. The meat was fresh enough & let everybody finish in not more than 3minutes after the photo capture.

If you think RM80/kg grouper for you too expensive, don't worry! You can try a cheaper 1 with Tri Flavor Red Snapper 三味红狮. The crispy fried red snapper with spicy, sweet & sour combination sauce also taste delicious too.

  Steam Clam 花芭蒸 although not my choice, but also can have a try on it. It steamed with garlic and sprinkled with lime juice.

1 of Good Friend signature dish is Chicken Satay沙爹鸡串. If you are a satay lover, this dish sure you won't escape. It make you will continue 1 by 1 with non stop.

Nestum Chicken 麦香鸡 & Sour Plum Chicken 酸梅鸡 both combine into a plate, it don't have much special compare with other restaurant. But can have a try.

 My favorite dish is coming, Good Friend Pork Trotter 好友猪手, The crispy skin & meat taste lickin good.

 Broccoli Scallop 西兰花带子 was next serve up. Most of the wedding dinner would have this signature dish. It taste good, but the scallop seems small for me.

  Crispy Tofu 脆香豆腐 would be the best partner with beer. Taste soft tofu with deep fried style. Yummy

  Kum Heong Prawn 甘香虾 to me nothing special, but the prawn were very fresh.

Fresh mantis prawn not everywhere can found, but Good Friend can. Before the cooking process being,
Ah Lum show us the active & still alive mantis prawn. The mantis prawn price vary according to size (Big RM28/pcs, Small RM15/pcs)

 Cheese Mantis Prawn 芝司螳螂虾 were prepare ready once we finish the alive mantis prawn shooting. It combine cheese & mushroom, even it look simple, but taste awesome.

 Signature Crab 招牌螃蟹 serve with mantou 馒头 is Good Friend signature dish as well. For the person like me seldom eat crab just only taste the mantou combine with source. I still prefer baked crab.

Ah Lum cooking not stop with serve Teow Chew Noodle 潮州面条 & Salted Fish Fried Rice 咸鱼炒饭 as well. To me both of the noodle & fried rice also satisfied to me, cause I like it both very much.

iii) Catering Service : minimum 60 persons. 30pax to 50 pax (self collection)
